Product Review: JBL's Charge

JBL's Charge is a portable speaker with a built-in battery and wireless Bluetooth streaming. Available in multiple colors, the JBL Charge is easily customizable to match your personality. The Charge accents previous wireless speakers from JBL, such as The Micro Wireless we previously highlighted. Here at ATS we love good tunes, along with that we love to bring the good tunes with us, as we're always on the go. The Charge is a powerful, reliable, and compact speaker, that makes it easy to bring with you, wherever you go. The best part? It can charge your phone or mobile device when it's batteries run dry. We took to the outdoors over the weekend to test out the speaker and it kept us rocking all weekend long in the wilderness. Now, the product features say it provides 12 hours of battery life and we could tell that estimate was conservative, because we only had to recharge it once all weekend. This is thanks to its 6000mAh lithium ion rechargeable battery. Along with holding a good charge, it charges your mobile device! Just hook your phone up to the speaker via the USB input on the side, using the charging chord that you already use for your mobile device (as long as it has a USB output).

In it's carrying case the speaker measures up to be about 2"x 6" in size, almost the size of a 24oz beer (or soda) can. Syncing with your iPhone or Android is very easy, allowing you to focus on putting up that annoying tent, or starting the Grill. On the way back to La-La Land, we powered down the car stereo and subbed in the JBL Charge and the sound held strong. We turned up The Starting Line's "Say It Like You Mean It", plugged in the phone to charge and headed back to reality.

The JBL Charge is available in Grey, Blue, and Green and comes with a cool neoprene carrying case. Check out Amazon.com, Best Buy, or click this link to find a retailer near you to pick up the Charge, a must have for any music lover on the go!

  1. 12 hours battery life is pretty awesome. I have an off-brand BT speaker and I think it only gets about 6 if that.
